An initial antique library chair that transforms into a ladder step stool.Square nails, separately manufactured screws, hand-cut morticed joints, brass latches & hinges,.uneven hand-sanding - all show age. Plastic bottom tabs were added at a later date.IN BEAUTIFUL CONDITION !!!(with minor blemishes - kindly view images closely).Originally designed by Benjamin Franklin in the 1700's as a benefit in his own library.
