2005 18" Rocky Mountain Slayer 70 **UPGRADE

Price:
$1,100
Location:
Pasadena, CA
Description:

customized (Made in Canada) Rocky Mountain Slayer 70, 18" frame. 5" travel front & rear. 28 lbs ... light-weight! $2600 MSRP. http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeSpecs.aspx?Year=2005=Rocky%20Mountain=Slayer%2070=bike. Easton 7005 FS Oval RAD Taperwall Aluminum. This bike was handmade in Canada signed by the welder who bonded the frame the individual who construct the rims signed it also (Wheeltech by Rocky Mountain). 1) Marzocchi Z. 1 Freeride SL Bomber (*** incredible air fork, some like it much better than current models).130mm travel, +/- air adjustment on left, 5-point ECC5 rebound modification on right (with lockout). http://www.mtbr.com/cat/older-categories-bikes/2003-front-shocks/marzocchi/z1-fr-sl/prd.program contact details.rx. aspx. "Weaknesses: Nothing ... aside from they don't make these any even more to this requirement. They are developed like a tank, the travel once serviced with a quick oil modification and set up was amazing to state the least. I've ridden other "more recent" air forks which apparently have all the whistles and bells, and actually can not say they are any much better (with some being waaaaay even worse).". "Strengths: Everything, Best fork ever made ... BAR NONE!Bottom Line:.WOW, I ride only old skool Marz's. I have 2003 DJ 3, 2003 JR T, 2001 Z3, and this is by far my favorite fork. It is 10 years old and still perfomrs much better than any fork I have ridden to this day. I have ridden every brand, and lots of models. Old School Italian made (pre 2007 Tenneco messed up an excellent thing) forks are not just the very best Marzocchi's made however are the best mountain bicycle forks made to date. I definitely enjoy my Z1's i wont be reluctant taking 8 - 10 ft drops on this 130 mm fork. I wish to keep these forks going forever!". 2) Shimano BR-M525 hydraulic brakes. 3) Fox Float RL (air) rear shock, 130mm travel, has lockout. 4) Prodigy XC Raceface created crank. 5) Shimano PD-M545 clipless pedals. This bike is *** custom setup *** for serious MTB'ing ("all mountain"), both XC & freeride (plus downhill). Simply Google "2005 Rocky Mountain Slayer 70", you will find RAVE reviews on this bike/frame. Front shock is buttery smooth, takes in bumps w/ease ... Is bomb evidence to take big drops. The frame looks new, can not find a scratch on it. Barely used. All tuned up (wheels directly, shifts smooth), all set to ride. Truly an outstanding bike (light & high efficiency), developed for major MTB'er. Sacrifice at $1100. - Deore LX shifters.- Shimano rear Deore XT.- Shimano front Deore LX.
