Description:
Antique Brown Stoneware Two (2)Gallon Stamped Syrup Jug. Jug stands approximately 12" tall and base is 9" in size and body balloons out a bit. Jug has an unusually huge rimmed lip which measures 31/2" throughout, with 7/8" spout/lip. Jug is in extremely nice vintage condition. One chip about 5/8" x 3/8". Numerous small chips along the rim of lip. Colouring is special and includes a certain amount of flare to jug. It may have been an "End of Day" jug as it appears that the maker grabbed hold of the base and bottom of jug - it appears to have actually left hand or finger marks in the brown coloring. Good jug with character!
