These were brought over several years ago from Vietnam. Design go back to 9th-12th century Champa era utilized in temples. Very old and unique. The Cham individuals of south and central Vietnam have remarkable artistic and architectural traditions, dating back more than 1700 years. Moving from the island of Borneo to present-day Vietnam in 2nd century CE, the Cham kept a series of seaside kingdoms from c. 192-XXXX CE. Champa-- found at the crossroads of India, Java, and China-- was the grand emporium of Southeast Asia and the chief rival of the effective Khmer Empire. The arts of Champa adapted different artistic tendencies from Southeast Asia, India, and even China. Sizes range from approximately 27-30 inches in height, 16-22" in width, 7-14 rather heavy and deep made from sandstone or stone. Asking $1,200 - $2,000 depending on statute.
