In approximately 2002 I began making *Precious Reborn*, 'reborn' vinyl baby dolls. I was a licensed seller of Berenger dolls and had my business under "Precious Reborn" dolls. I not only sold my dolls at craft shows and Ebay, but they were also carried in a specialty toy store located in Redding, CA and one located here in Tucson, AZ. Reborn dolls are made to look and feel like REAL babies. This particular one is a reborn Berenger 'preemie'. She/he is approximately 15" in length and weighs between 3-4 pounds. The process for 'reborning' is lengthy! First the doll is stripped of all factory coloring and the vinyl is tinted/re-colored from the inside to the outside. I gave this baby a soft body, with full vinyl jointed limbs. This baby's hair is a dark brown mohair which has been 'rooted', meaning each individual strand is HAND plugged into the vinyl using a 'felting' needle-an actual NEEDLE. This baby also has rooted eyelashes. Depending on what clothing you put on this baby, it can pass as either a boy, or girl. He or she wears actual preemie baby clothing. The head and limbs, as well as the body, are weighted. I have opened the nose and mouth so baby can be with, or without a pacifier. She will come with a complete preemie outfit with matching blanket, headband and pacifier. This is a COLLECTIBLE, and not a toy! It is NOT made as a toy for small children.
