These benches were initially from the Ferry that crossed from Mackinaw City to St. Ignace prior to the Mackinaw Bridge was constructed. They are made from heavy wrought iron and oak. They have actually been just recently refinished. The date 1874 is embedded in the wrought iron. These are unique pieces and are not replaceable. The top of the benches swings back and forth to alter direction of the seating.I thought that someone near Mackinaw City or St. Ignace would have an interest in these.
