Featuring deep,rich, banded reddish-brown wood with patinaed brass accents, handles, andunmarked plaque, this gorgeous one-drawer chest is a true beauty! The top opensto exposes a silk-lined interior for an elegant display of your silver. Asingle drawer pulls out, with room for more storage!This elegant box is stamped in silk: “Harris N.Brown; Washington D.C.”. Brown was a jeweler in the Nation’s Capital around 1910.Please note that the drawer only opens once the topis opened, as it locks with a spring-hinged mechanism when the top is down. Thebox does not contain its original key; however, one can likely be made by alocksmith.Condition:This chest is in EXCELLENT condition! Besides some light surface wear to the wood and some light wear to the brass elements, the exterior of the box is largely free from flaws, damage, and repair! The silk inside has some signs of use and wear, with a few minor nicks, but is largely free from major flaws and damage, as well!
