Pioneer Elite A-71 Integrated Amplifier. They don’t make them like this anymore! Weighing in at 60 lbs. , you won’t find this build / sound quality for under $2000. I’m sorry but no wood side panels. I bought it this way. In very good to excellent condition! Tested and everything working perfectly. Front panel in excellent condition. All switches, and knobs work accordingly. No knob or switching noise to speak of. Volume control is a thing of beauty made from a solid billet of anodized metal. A joy to operate. Overall very clean with just a few “nics” on the upper left edge of the front panel. See pics but more specifically on the edge over the PIONEER emblem and a couple more on same edge an inch or so down. See close up pics. Not to bad at all - just trying to be straight-forward. Front glossy, urishi finish will show finger prints but beautiful when clean. And that’s a metal front face-plate, not plastic as most of them are today. Same specs as A91D without the outdated DAC and unreliable solenoid switches and input selection. This was by far the more reliable amp with mechanical switches and knobs. Very good phono section too! Take a look at the inside. Very clean! Twin transformers , big caps, straightforward, direct circuitry. Good luck finding this construction in most anything today. UL approved and Made in Japan. Will be packed carefully. Hate to sell this - I just have too much electronics here. It really is a thing of beauty, simplicity, sound quality and construction. You will not be disappointed. Feel free to ask any questions. This is from the Vintage Knob web site;Basically an M-90a with only one non-anodized honeycomb heatsink and a preamp section added, of course. And the same two cast-iron transformers, too.Added, or upgraded, are Pioneer's staple Non-Switching circuit as nherited from the A-80, here in version III,a "Direct Connection" version II which reduces internal wiring and the multiplication of contacts (the signal goes only through halfway of the chassis),a "clean ground circuit" which isolates the power transformers and heatsinks from the chassis and a "direct" switch which connects the input directly to the power amp section.Also non-resonant honeycomb feet, non-resonant honeycomb chassis plates, honeycomb reinforcement plates and copper-plated caps (but for the top).Tagged with the Pioneer ELITE name in the USA but not elsewhere (same amp, though), the A-71 was an A-717 in Japan.That version saw a 1988 version with added S-Video and composite terminals under the A-717V moniker ; the rec-out selector was replaced by the video/audio input selector.Trouble-free and healthy 27kg amplifiers.
