If you've visited our website or social media pages before, there's a great chance you've seen this boy before. This is Spotty Beau, and he's been with us for far too long. He was brought back to us after being adopted as a baby and never adjusted to being back at the shelter. Spotty has battled with a lot of issues that most people would find relatable; anxiety, frustration, and even depression. We've done everything we can to make him feel more comfortable, and he typically spends his days in an office, with his bed and toys, and we try to visit with him as much as we can. But this is no life for Spotty; we dream of so much more for him. Spotty does have some challenges; he can be reactive around other dogs - so you can imagine how hard it is for him to live with so many of them! However, he's been improving so much, and although it's something his potential adopter will most likely have to work on, we feel encouraged as he's doing so well. Does Spotty like strangers? Nope. Will he bark at strangers? Yep, probably. Will you be a stranger to him if you come meet him? Sure will! Okay okay, all of this is to say that Spotty may not be all warm and fuzzy when you first meet, so a few "get togethers" at the shelter will be best to get to know Spotty Beau. He's been doing really well with new employees and volunteers at the shelter, accepting treats and even asking for pets, so we feel really good about him bonding with his new people. Spotty should live in a home where he's the only dog and would do best with adults only. We know what an incredibly loyal, loving, and trusting boy he can be if just given the chance. This boy has been with us for nearly two years and it absolutely breaks our hearts. He deserves so much more. As we want to do everything we can to set Spotty Beau uo for success, he is a member of our Oh Behave! Training Academy! Spotty and his fellow pup students each have their own story as to why they've had a harder time finding a home, but we see so much potential in every one of these cuties and know that with a little guidance they can become the best friend you've always been looking for, which is why we are so excited to be able to provide this opportunity!
